Come rain or shine

Girls in Mumbai walk about in flipflops! How do they do it?

It's easy to find a cobbler in the city that doesn't walk but runs.

Spell hell

With a pen in hand, while taking notes, the letters went 'snale' overwritten to snail and in a while 'roap', big eyes made and changed to rope.

The power of the red corrugated line and the right click has made the keyboard and mouse mightier than the pen. And the sword, well its quite outdated.

All with time grew
I watchd them all the while
And yet i found there remained just two
So I looked around and realised
that one had gone away, disguised!

The flag and base at AIR, Panaji.

The vegetables randomly cut were lined as if deliberately, to form the flag on a day like today! The excitment on noticing had it clicked:)!

Crossing paths

Everyone we meet has a lesson or an insight to share. It may take even a decade for the lesson to be put forth but it will, completing yet another no-beginning-no-ending circle of education, enlightenment or inspiration.

Canvas

Walls, especially outdoors, left to the creativity of nature and time create interesting backdrops.

Kissing trucks

Like a curtain these trucks enclosed the space. Was running late so badly captured and now managed a skewed stich :(

The Orchestra

Performing solo requires courage and skill but as the soloist with accompanists or when more than one, it is more essential to hear, be honest, adjust and finally produce harmony which respecting and maintaining the distinction of each contributing other.

Awareness

Education destroys spontaneity, it creates parameters and guidelines and in someways removes the seriousness of fun.

Why we die

to finish homework
to finish school
to finish college
to finish work
to get married
to have kids
for the kids to grow up
for whatever else

all, only to live...
and only realise we havent, when we truly are dying.

MJ says

The amazing thing is that we have the ability to make everyday the precious day that is the sabbath. And we do this by rededicating ourselves to the wonders of childhood.

The best way i can imagine to show my thanks is to make the very most of the gift that God gave me.

Late last night

Driving home, i saw a tired fisherwoman sitting by the bridge, waiting for a customer, at an hour when not too many drive by, let alone stop to enquire or purchase. I truly admire people who sell. It takes more than just talent.

Oxymoron??

Talk to shut up...

Wet wet wet

Thoughts in my head, not clear yet, seem like the rain on ink written pages before I can get then in order, the words merge into each other and flow way. They have something to do with the sounds of the rain like pitter patter or bhigi bhigi or goshgoshean. One can almost hear what each word is conveying just by virtue of being.

I watch the road ahead of me, and allow the rain drops to get the view from the windshield completely distorted until the wiper on slowest speed comes and clears it. The uncertainly of what could lay ahead as I drive sometimes almost like a bind mouse has a charm that I know comes with risks and that's probably what makes this little exercise even more enjoyable...

Heard a song

Randomly stumbled on this song in a video today, called 'Listen with your heart' I think its by Casey Donovan, words are somthing like

when you cant find your way throu the night..
.. nothigns feeling right...
you dont know which road to choose
thats when you've got to
listen with your heart
listen to your soul
inside youll find the answer to the place you need to go
...
no matter where you are
just listen cos your heart will lead you home

Don't know if it's a new or old song... enjoyed it.

WOW is WWW

The expanse and the possibilities of the internet never fail to amaze me.
- the new google wave.. How do those people think like that?
- the amount of information availble on anything under and around the sun
- the ability to find people who one would have lost complete touch with otherwise.
- the sharing or ideas, the expression of personal views, the posting of ones creations
- the selling and buying
- the virtual avatars and mmogs
- etc etc unlimited!!!

Life without the internet... would be difficult.

Ask Questions

Trying to resolve a doubt in the space of one's own mind most often only results in a waste of time. Sometimes the answers are avaiable but one wouldn't know that unless the question is asked no matter how insignificant it may seem.

Sounds i Hear

The broom on the bathroom floor as it gets cleaned
A bus, in 1st gear, dragging on the road
chirp chirp of some bird
pitter patter by the window
Anothe bus zooming past
A scooter too
Coughing
The television
Vessels being kept into place in the kirchen
The mixer

I've heard that there is one moment everyday when all the universe is silent, Have not experienced it yet... but wish I someday am able to.

Bonding

There are many instances that encourage one to forge bonds with people, some that coem to my mind right now
- over cigarette breaks
- over chai
- while taking the same route.. travelling everyday or even long journeys
- goin through similar experiences
- being fans of some one or something
- being the odd ones out therefore...
- roomates
- partners in a task/ project
- or sharing a the desk and bench in school
- blogging :)

Go Go mosquito

The mosquitoes, give me sleepless nights
They enjoy themselves, with their unending bites
they sing their songs right in my ear
their hum breaking silence is all i hear
Certainly unwanted guests they are,
they need no invite, just a door or window left ajar
Slap myself, kill them i do
when will they leave i have no clue!!

The Rain

How i love the rain
As it splashes on the window pane
How i love the rain
as it washes he muddy lane

How i love the rain
As it turns the world green
How i love the rain
from under the umbrella, my screen.

Fish kisses

There are certain experiences some just love. Like feeding the ducks at a park using your bare hands or just listening to the sound of falling water or stroking the back of one’s pet. They have a kind of therapeutic effect and thus it’s no wonder that capturing these into spaces and products has gained popularity.
A couple of years ago I’d been for a picnic with friends at a spring. The fish there were great fun, nibbling at our feet. We all enjoyed their company and each wished that we had them to our selves!

And I hear, that that’s precisely an experience that particular spas are offering to clients! That’s right, fish pedicures are creating something of a splash.

The fish used are called garra rufa and typically known as doctor fish. They were first used in Turkey, (to feed on the skin of patients with psoriasis) and have become popular in some Asian countries and the US. Well, it’s all not left to the fish. Customers get a standard pedicure, made easier by the soft skin that the doctor fish leave behind after the 15 -20 minutes of ‘fish kisses’. That’s what I like to call it.

Those who’ve experienced something similar in nature will surely agree that will be a pretty good spa experience and something that one could easily get ‘hooked’ to.

The Re-quest

Its not everyday that people ask something of us that we can give. A couple of weeks ago P asked that I start movingfingers2 as her birthday gift... Sometimes it amazes me how people can ask for birthday gifts :P. Anyway P, here it is.

Was supposed to start it yesterday but due to internet connection problems, the blog is up today with this first post.

Here's to P because this is THE YEAR. And here is to a request ( i hope to fulfill till the 19th of June 2010!)

PS: the title made me think if research is a re- search then why isnt request a re-quest.. maybe in someways, in this case, it just might be!)
